How the Highlands inspired science

An exhibition based on the original geological mapping of Scotland’s Northwest Highlands. The 1880s maps and field sketches document the first steps to a worldwide understanding of how mountains are formed. Entrance to all the exhibitions is free.

Elements of the Mapping Mountains exhibition are on display at the Department of Geology & Petroleum Geology at the University of Aberdeen.
